Happy Wednesday from AARI!
Join Zaira Castillo, M.M. Piano student and Artslab Fellow, and Athens composers for a night of premieres! Zaira commissioned five Athens-based composers over the past year to write a piece for solo piano about identity living as people of color in the United States. The featured composers are Claudia Beroukhim, Ayako Pederson-Takeda, Pedram Diba, Caitlin Santos, and Christopher Hernandez. A documentary featuring each composer will be shown followed by the premiere of the composer’s piece. Afterwards, there will be a discussion panel featuring Zaira and the composers.
This event is free and will take place at Ciné Athens. Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is required upon entry.
